Congratulations and great work! It's been a long rough ride for her and hopefully a more fulfilling role for here at the new place.

How's everything else going with you i.e. the house etc?

Thanks @EN710 all is good with me, loving the new house and looking forward to getting the veggie patches going again now Spring is coming. Some of the big ticket renno's will have to wait now as her new salary is much lower than the old one, but at the end of the day, that second wage takes a lot of pressure off us now and we can start putting some savings away again. We really can't complain at all.

The whole thing has made us re-assess a few things. We're just about to list an under performing IP (signing the forms with the selling agent this morning). Working on paying down debt on the IP's that will be left and tightened up the discretionary spending a lot. Concentrate on my business for the next few years and really make a dent in the mortgages if we can. We'll take a smallish capital hit on the property we're about to sell but it'll free up a bit of monthly cash-flow which we'll channel back into shares per month instead, diversify a little.

    Cheers.

This is such good news. I feel as though I know your partner and thus felt very happy to read it.
What a journey - sounds like a real job that one can be proud of. A person with a sterling character usually comes out on top.
